Why is my real constellation different from my traditional sign?
Because of axial precession, a slow 25,772-year wobble in Earth’s axis, the constellation behind the Sun on any given date has drifted since the zodiac dates were fixed about 2,000 years ago — by now, nearly a full sign for most of the year.
What is Ophiuchus?
A real 13th constellation the ecliptic passes through, between Scorpius and Sagittarius. The Sun is in front of it for about 18 days every December, but the traditional 12-sign zodiac leaves it out entirely.
